Hello and welcome to
Mikaela Q Therapy!

I'm Mikaela Quintinita, but please just call me Mika (mee-kah). It is a pleasure to meet you! I am a licensed marriage and family therapist providing online therapy through Mindful Therapy Group.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu in 2016 and my Master of Arts in Couples and Family Therapy from Seattle University in 2021.

I completed an 18-month internship at Sound (formerly known as Sound Mental Health) as a graduate student, where I provided individual, family, and group therapy to a diverse clientele with approximately 60% identifying as BIPOC and 30% identifying as LGBTQIA+. Services were provided both online and in-office to clients ranging from preschool age to older adult age.

Professional Experience

Prior to becoming a therapist, I was an assistant teacher at a Montessori preschool where I engaged students in play-based activities that promoted their academic, emotional, and social development. As an undergraduate student, I volunteered as a youth leader where I facilitated discussions and activities exploring themes of grief, community, and identity throughout the adolescent experience. I also volunteered with a local non-profit organization to support children and families processing anticipatory grief and loss.

Outside the Office

Being a second-generation Filipino-American raised in a military family has played a key role in my development as both a woman and as a therapist. While I was primarily raised in the state of Hawai'i, I have been lucky to call Washington home since 2016. When I'm not wearing my therapist hat,

I enjoy reading, playing board games, and finding new places to eat, hike, and explore. I continue to discover more and more to love about the Pacific Northwest.
